This project is to create an accommodation office in order to employ pastoral staff to support students studying in Scarborough.  The office will be situated at 8a Victoria Road in Scarborough, below a block of refurbished good quality en-suite student accommodation the West Park Properties Ltd own.

The accommodation office will provide support to students on this site as well as others within the town.  The office will be the central hub for all the property enquiries, lettings, repairs etc.  West Park Properties Ltd want this space to be vibrant, modern and to massively enhance the street frontage.

The number of first year students in Scarborough is increasing year on year and it is extremely important that the university can offer students high quality en-suite rooms along with dedicated support.  Pastoral support will include emotional, financial and practical support.

This wider project sits well within the Town Centre plan to attract students and life into Scarborough Town Centre.

The renovation of the shop front at 8a Victoria Road, will be put back into use a total of 40m² of dilapidated and unwanted retail space.  The retail space will be fully renovated back to brick and then remodelled to meet the latest standards of energy efficiency and meet full building and environmental regulations.
