Eastfield Employment Hub
Scarborough – ESF
Scarborough Borough Council
Eastfield Employment Hub is a project aimed at supporting residents of Eastfield to make positive progress towards employment and training. The project will be led by Scarborough Borough Council who will employ the project manager. The project will be supported by staff from Beyond Housing, Sparks, Futureworks and Scarborough Jobmatch who will be committed to working 100% on the project. The WEA will also be a project partner providing courses around volunteering and working in schools.
Specific activities will depend on the needs of the clients but are expected to include one to one mentoring, group sessions including crafts and cookery, support to access individual volunteering opportunities and group projects, assistance with the setting up of, developing and providing support for a range of work placements, access to various training courses including health and safety and manual handling at the Skills Village, working in schools by the WEA and training around confidence building and raising self-esteem.
The end result will be positive progression into work or further education or training along with happier, more confident residents who feel part of their neighbourhood.
