Brid Works

Bridlington – ESF

East Riding Yorkshire Council

East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s employment education and skills team offers all sorts of advice and support to help people get back into work. Whether participants are 18 or 58, the team works closely with local employers to match their skills and experience to jobs available.

Brid Works is an employability project to support those aged 19 and over who are unemployed or economically inactive living in the Bridlington area.  It is delivered from various venues in the town to suit individual participants’ needs.  Plus there is a permanent base at the Adult Learning Centre, King Street, Bridlington (above the central library).  Participants start by working with a personal adviser to develop a personalised plan of action.

Activities on the project include:

  • Weekly 1:1 support
  • Workshops to improve confidence, self-esteem and mental resilience
  • Sessions to promote greater inclusion and healthy lifestyles
  • Personal budgeting
  • Employability workshops
  • Local employer led mock interviews
  • Business projects
  • Budget to help with removing personal barriers
  • Facilitating work placements / experience and volunteering
  • Peer support
  • Identifying gaps in basic skills
